History
Club La Santa was created as an active holiday resort in 1983, within existing developments built in 1972 by the local bank La Caja de Canarias with Juan Manuel Ruiz de la Prada as architect. The Danish pastor Eilif Krogager, creator and then still owner of the tour operator Tjaereborg, saw the opportunity on the island of Lanzarote as a holiday venue.
In 1978 he secured ownership of the resort which was still in the building process. At that time, the island offered very few tourist resorts and Krogager committed to his dream that Club La Santa could one day become a great active holiday resort.
The new resort opened its doors on 22nd June 1983 and today Club La Santa offers globally unrivalled facilities, welcoming active families and people of all ages, amateur sports people, elite professionals, clubs and teams.
Enjoying a unique spirit and friendly atmosphere, a myriad of activities, sports and entertainment, people come back to Club La Santa year after year, later returning home with a renewed sense of health and wellbeing.
